Privacy Policy
The Japan Commercial Arbitration Association (hereinafter "JCAA") recognizes that protection of its users' privacy is a matter of critical importance to fulfill its mission. JCAA has adopted the following Personal Information Protection Policy for this purpose and is committed to treating its users' personal information in a careful and secure manner so that it will be appropriately protected.
1. Basic Policy
In order to provide its users with a sense of security and confidence when using JCAA's services, JCAA has established its policies regarding the protection of personal information and has committed itself to ensuring appropriate use and treatment of users' personal information.
2. Compliance with Applicable Laws and Regulations
It is JCAA's policy to strictly comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information in Japan and any other applicable laws and regulations, in order to appropriately use and handle personal information of its users.
3. Treatment of Personal Information
a.Collection of Personal Information
When collecting personal information from users, JCAA will specify the purpose for which users' personal information is collected and will endeavor to obtain such personal information only to the extent necessary for the purpose for which the information is collected, and use an appropriate means that complies with applicable law.
b.Use of Personal Information
Unless required by law, JCAA will not use users' personal information outside the scope of the purposes stipulated below:
- To Implement and manage JCAA's services, events and seminars for users who applied for these services, events and seminars and provided their personal information to JCAA
- To conduct questionnaire surveys on JCAA's services, events and seminars targeting users who applied for these services, events and seminars and provided their personal information to JCAA
- To send information on JCAA's services, events and seminars to users who expressed an interest in these services, events and seminars and provided their personal information to JCAA
- To achieve other purposes clearly indicated to users at the time JCAA requests the information
c.Provision of Personal Information
Unless required by law or unless agreed by user, JCAA will not provide users' personal information to third parties.
d.Third Party's Use of Personal Information
JCAA may entrust third party with handling personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose stipulated above. In such instances, JCAA may share users' personal information only with those contractors who have demonstrated the ability to control and protect such information and have agreed to strictly comply with JCAA's requirements for the protection of personal information.
4. Appropriate Control of Personal Information
In order to treat personal information in a secure and proper manner, JCAA will endeavor to take appropriate measures to prevent unauthorized access to, loss or diminution of, or damage to, personal information.
5. Continuous Improvement
JCAA will continue to examine its personal information policy as needed and will endeavor to improve it as appropriate.
