JCAA-JIMC International Mediation Webinar : Post COVID-19: The New Normal for International Dispute Resolution (Sep. 25, Oct. 2)

The outbreak of COVID-19 has had a tremendous impact on businesses across the globe and strongly reminded us of the uncertainty associated with cross-border transactions. Nevertheless, globalization will not be reversed. In the days ahead, flexible and efficient resolution of international commercial disputes becomes ever more important. Against this backdrop, JCAA and JIMC-Kyoto are pleased to present two webinars on international mediation which is an optimal dispute resolution mechanism for companies in the post COVID-19 era.

On Day 1, Mr. Danny McFadden, a world-renowned international mediator and the Managing Director of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) Asia Pacific as well as the Regional Mediator for the World Bank and United Nations in Asia, will introduce the basics and effectiveness of international mediation based on his own experience and through interesting case studies.

On Day 2, Japanese and foreign experts and practitioners with extensive experience in international mediation will join Mr. McFadden for a panel discussion and share their insights on the potential of international mediation from the perspectives of businesses, mediators, and counsels.

Simultaneous Japanese/English interpretation will be provided.
